Hardware Issue

Service Description

The Information Technology (IT) department can help troubleshoot and repair issues with College-owned computers, devices and peripherals.

Examples of hardware issues include:

  • Printer jams and malfunctions
  • Laptop batteries not maintaining charge
  • Computer unable to connect to the network
  • Keyboard, mouse and monitor malfunction
  • Computer won't turn on
  • Telephone has no dial tone

Roles and Responsibilities

User Responsibilities:

  • Provide a detailed report of the hardware issue, device make/model and location of device
  • User agrees to grant access to their office or work location to troubleshoot the hardware issue
  • User agrees to grant remote access to their device (if applicable) to troubleshoot the issue

IT Responsibilities:

  • Assist with hardware that is not functioning properly
  • Leverage warranty and support contracts for repairs, if necessary
